The Principle behind $LIGHT and AXE

In the real world, human production activities are always inseparable from some basic elements, such as labor, means of production, production tools, capital and so on. In EMIT Epoch, there will be things that correspond to these basic elements, but the difference is that these things are generated from the original decentralized crypto world, which has no connection with the real world and centralization.

The first phase of EMIT Epoch released two scenarios of the Origin universe, Altar and Chaos, in which users can forge their own production tools and use them to synthesize $Light and $Dark tokens.

Throughout the production process, users will receive not only $Light or $Dark tokens, but also the production tool NFT AxeDevice and two special NFT AltarDriver and ChaosDriver.

In Epoch, the forging of production tools and the production of tokens are driven by the PoN (Proof of Negentropy). Under the PoN mechanism, users can generate Negentropy streams by providing Hashrate (generated by computing devices) or by burning tokens.

Negentropy streams can be stored with NE House and then converted into Energy streams in EN House. The Energy stream is loaded by the Driver of the cryptographic account in the Chaos scenario and eventually exported by AxeDevice as $Light or $Dark tokens.

Of course, the yield of tokens depends not only on the amount of Negentropy and energy provided by the producer, but also on whether you have a higher level of production proficiency (represented by ChaosDriver) and a higher level of production tool (represented by AxeDevice) in the Chaos scenario.

To forge the higher level production tool, AxeDevice, you need to use the Driver of the Altar scenario to load energy and then upgrade AxeDevice. AltarDriver represents the level of proficiency in forging AxeDevices.

In the production structure of the Epoch ecosystem, Driver is a special type of NFT, corresponding to labor and labor proficiency, which is tied to an account and cannot be traded to others. Device is also a type of NFT, which corresponds to production tools and the level of sophistication of production tools, and can be transferred to other public chains or traded. $Light and $Dark correspond to products, and they are also production materials for other scenarios.

1. Origin Universe & Epoch Scenes

The first phase of Epoch opens the Origin Universe, in which there are currently two Epoch Scenes: Altar and Chaos. Epoch Scenes can be seen as production environments in the Universe. Users can produce in these Scenes to obtain various production tools and production materials, which are assets. Next, in addition to Altar and Chaos, various scenarios will be developed. The types of FT/NFT and their relationships in Epoch will be diversified.

2. PoN & Negentropy & Negentropy House

PoN stands for Proof of Negentropy, which is used to prove and measure the consumption of Negentropy.

Negentropy is the source of Epoch's value and can be generated in two ways, one is by directly burning crypto tokens, such as $Light in order to generate an equal amount of negentropy. Of course each token burns a different kind of negentropy. Burning the token requires the actual destruction of the token.

The other way is more like the PoW algorithm, using computing devices to generate Hashrate, which is converted to the amount of negentropy by the following formula. Of course, different kinds of Hash algorithms produce different Negentropy.

N\mbox{E}_{hash}\; =\; \frac{UINT256_{\max }}{Hash\left( seed\; ,\; nonce \right)}

Epoch provides a global service called NE House, where users can store the Negentropy generated by Hashrate in NE House and then decide how to allocate it to each scenario to maximize the revenue.

3. Energy & Energy House

The value carried by Negentropy needs to be converted to Energy before it can be used in Epoch scenarios. Therefore, Energy House provides an infinite number of parallel Universes, each of which generates a certain amount of Energy in a Period cycle. The user can input the Negentropy from NE House to Energy House and convert it into Energy according to the proportion of a Period.

4. Randomness & Period Service

In Epoch, some randomness is often needed, such as the genes of NFT, randomly selecting the winners, etc. In this case, the randomness of the number of periods is not necessary. In this case, the security of the random number is crucial, it cannot be predicted or manipulated. Before EMIT Core went online, we generated this randomness through Period Service contracts. The Super Node generates a Seed at the end of each Period through the Period Service, which has the following characteristics: before the Seed is announced, no one can guess the actual data of the Seed, and after the Seed is announced, it only affects the transactions from before the Seed has been announced. The randomness of access to the exchange is determined by the Seed and the transaction itself. A Period is set to 24 hours.

Neither Energy nor Negentropy can be traded to other accounts.

5. Driver & Driver House

The Driver represents the workforce in the Epoch ecosystem and is the key node for Energy to enter the Epoch scenario. Each account has a unique Driver in each scenario. Driver is a special NFT that represents the labor proficiency of the crypto account it belongs to in this Epoch scenario, and it determines the amount of energy passed per unit time and the conversion rate. Driver cannot be traded to other accounts.

The Driver's output capacity per unit time is given by the following formula.

\mbox{C}ap_{driver}\; =\; Acc_{driver}^{0.635}

Driver's energy conversion rate is as follows:

Rate_{driver}\; =\; 1\; -\; 2^{0.65}\; \cdot \; \mbox{C}ap_{driver}^{-0.35}

The two scenarios released in the first phase of Epoch both correspond to a Driver, AltarDriver and ChaosDriver, which represent the number of Axe forged and the level of proficiency to produce $Light and $Dark, respectively.

6. Device & Device House

Device is also a type of NFT, representing a production tool in Epoch, and can be traded to other accounts. It has similar energy properties as Driver and represents the level of technical sophistication. Unlike Driver, Device has energy storage properties in addition to output capacity per unit of time. The energy stored by a Device will be dissipated at a certain rate and when it reaches its initial value, the Device will degrade to its initial state.

The equation for the energy dissipated per unit time of a Device is as follows:

Diss_{device}\; =\; \mbox{C}ap_{device}^{0.433}
